Ghanaian-Nigerian actress, Nadia Buari has raised concerns over the rise of online impersonation following the introduction of WhatsApp’s new username feature, which allows users to connect without sharing phone numbers.

According to Ireporter Online, the actress revealed that she attempted to set up her WhatsApp username but discovered that multiple variations of her name had already been taken, including “Nadia Buari,” “Nadia S Buari,” “NSB,” and “theNadiaBuari.” She described the experience as both exhausting and alarming, noting the speed at which her identity variants were already in use.

Buari expressed worry that the development highlights how quickly fraudsters and impersonators are adapting to digital changes in order to deceive unsuspecting users. She further urged her followers to remain vigilant, warning that if individuals could so rapidly secure celebrity name variations, other forms of online scams could be even more concerning.

In her words, she questioned the situation, stating that it was unsettling to find every possible version of her name already claimed, and stressed the need for increased caution online as impersonation risks continue to grow.
