2027: Kwankwaso Breaks Silence After Being Named Peter Obi’s Running Mate
Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has described his nomination as the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections as a significant honour and a demonstration of trust in his political experience.
According to Ireporter Online, Kwankwaso made this known in a statement shared on Sunday via his official account, where he expressed appreciation to the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the leadership of the NDC for the confidence reposed in him.
The development follows the formal ratification of Obi as the NDC presidential flagbearer on Saturday, after which Kwankwaso was announced as his running mate for the forthcoming election.
In his reaction, Kwankwaso noted that his selection came as a humbling development and pledged commitment to the party’s vision and electoral success in 2027.
He further commended the National Leader of the NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, and other party stakeholders for what he described as a bold and strategic decision aimed at strengthening unity, democratic values, and effective leadership ahead of the polls.
Kwankwaso reaffirmed his readiness to work alongside the party leadership to ensure victory for the NDC in the 2027 general elections.
