Ruth Kadiri: “I Never Felt Pressure To Get Married
According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has revealed that she never experienced societal or personal pressure to get married, adding that marriage was never a major aspiration for her while growing up. Speaking during an interview with Ifedayo Agoro, the actress disclosed that she did not fantasise about marriage and was not certain she would ever walk down the aisle, noting instead that her focus was on other aspects of life.
Kadiri explained that she always had confidence in herself, describing herself as “a catch” who believed anyone that eventually married her would be fortunate. She further recounted that she met her husband through work when he initiated a conversation, although she was initially uninterested. However, she later engaged him in discussions ranging from business ideas to importation and opportunities in Vietnam.
She added that during a moment of reflection as she prepared to leave, she felt a spiritual conviction that he would become her husband. Although she initially cut off communication by blocking him two days later, he reportedly made persistent efforts to reconnect with her. According to her, those efforts eventually led to their relationship progressing, culminating in a proposal which she accepted, marking the beginning of their journey as a couple.
