Oyebanji Presented With INEC Certificate Of Return Following Historic Re-election Victory

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a Certificate of Return to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, following his victory in the state’s governorship election held on Saturday.

The certificate was presented at the commission’s headquarters in Ado-Ekiti by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Bunmi Omoseyindemi, who represented the INEC Chairman during the ceremony attended by political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and supporters of the governor.

Speaking at the event, Omoseyindemi congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election and commended residents of the state for maintaining peace throughout the electoral process. He emphasized the importance of sustaining democratic principles and noted that the successful conduct of the election reflected the collective commitment of INEC and other stakeholders to deepening democratic governance in the state.

In his remarks after receiving the certificate, Oyebanji described the outcome of the election as a victory for democracy, good governance, and development. He expressed appreciation to the people of Ekiti State for renewing his mandate and reaffirming their confidence in his administration.

The governor noted that the victory represented a significant milestone in the state’s political history, as it marked the first time a governor had secured consecutive electoral victories through the ballot box. He assured residents that the confidence reposed in him would not be taken for granted.

Oyebanji also extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support and dedication to democratic governance. He further acknowledged the contributions of leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional and religious leaders, civil servants, youths, women’s groups, security agencies, and election officials for ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.

According to the governor, the renewed mandate places a greater responsibility on his administration to deliver improved governance and enhanced service to the people. He pledged to continue implementing policies aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth, sustainable development, and consolidating the achievements recorded during his first term in office.
