2027: Southeast Group Pledges To Secure Anambra, Abia, And Enugu For Tinubu’s Victory
According to Ireporter Online, the Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (Project Beyond 2023), a Southeast-based political mobilisation group, has issued a strong warning to opposition parties in the region, declaring its readiness for a fierce political contest ahead of the 2027 general elections and insisting that the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in the zone will not be repeated.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to delivering Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election, attributing its position to what it described as visible developmental achievements recorded under President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the past three years. It stressed that nothing would hinder Tinubu’s re-election prospects in the Southeast.
Led by Comrade Marcelo Anyigor, the group stated this in a communiqué issued after a weekend meeting, where it resolved to intensify efforts against opposition parties and ensure victory for all APC candidates across the region. It further outlined strategic plans, including the organisation of seminars, orientation programmes, and capacity-building sessions aimed at preparing members for upcoming campaign activities.
The group also disclosed plans to strengthen grassroots mobilisation by equipping members with logistical support and materials necessary for effective door-to-door campaigns, while deepening collaboration with APC structures across Southeast states to enhance coordination and electoral outreach.
Anyigor urged residents of the Southeast to continue supporting the APC-led administration, arguing that the region had experienced notable infrastructural development under President Tinubu. He maintained that no previous government had demonstrated comparable commitment to the region’s growth.
He also commended APC governors and National Assembly members from the Southeast for their efforts in promoting the party, while applauding the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, for attracting key infrastructure projects to the region. The group further congratulated President Tinubu and all APC candidates who emerged from the party’s recent primaries.
