Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up about his decision to remain silent following the death of his colleague, Alex Ekubo, explaining that he struggled to find the right words to express his grief.

According to Ireporter Online, Alex Ekubo passed away at the age of 40 after battling complications arising from advanced kidney cancer following a prolonged illness.

In an emotional message shared on his Instagram page, Arukwe reflected on the bond he shared with the late actor, recalling that their first meeting took place on a movie set. He described Ekubo as a warm, accommodating, and genuinely kind individual who made a lasting impression on everyone around him.

The actor noted that hearing heartfelt stories from people who knew Ekubo more closely further reinforced the importance of kindness and humanity over fame and achievements. He explained that his silence was not a sign of indifference but rather a personal way of processing the painful loss.

Arukwe said he initially found it difficult to accept the news, admitting that some losses leave people speechless and hoping against hope that they are not real. He added that grief is experienced differently by everyone and that not every farewell needs to be expressed publicly.
