VIDEO: Massive Fire Engulfs Building Housing Popular Bank On Lagos Island

A fire outbreak on Thursday engulfed a multi-storey commercial building housing a Polaris Bank branch on Broad Street in Lagos Island, causing panic among residents and business owners in the area.

According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, videos circulating on social media captured thick plumes of smoke rising from the building as crowds gathered nearby to witness the incident. The footage also showed emergency responders, including firefighters, actively battling the blaze while making efforts to prevent it from spreading to adjacent structures.

The cause of the fire had not been determined at the time of filing this report, and authorities were yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. Emergency management agencies and the Lagos State Government had also not provided any update on the situation.

As of press time, no casualties had been confirmed, while emergency teams continued their operations at the scene.
