Finance Minister Commends JET Motors For Supporting CNG Initiative

Accompanied by key officials including Joseph Osanipin, the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), and Tosin Coker, Commercial Director of PCNGi, Minister Edun toured the facility to assess the progress of the CNG project.

Welcomed warmly by JET Motor Company’s leadership team, which includes founder and chairman Chidi Ajaere, CEO Engr Derek Ewelukwa, Sales Director Sanjay Rupani, and Plant Manager Ebimo Ofongo, Minister Edun was impressed by the company’s commitment to local talent and its ability to assemble both full CNG and petrol buses and convert petrol vehicles to CNG.

Expressing satisfaction with the initiative’s economic and environmental benefits, Minister Edun emphasized its role in reducing transport costs and stimulating economic growth, ultimately benefitting all Nigerians.

Joseph Osanipin of NADDC expressed pride in the accomplishments of indigenous companies like JET Motors, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to sustainable mobility and local manufacturing.

Engineer Derek Ewelukwa, acting CEO of JET Motors, expressed gratitude for the support received from the minister and the PCNGi team, underscoring the company’s dedication to promoting local production and creating employment opportunities.

JET Motor Company continues to lead the way in indigenous auto manufacturing, offering a range of Electric Vehicles (EV) vans, pickups, and CNG/Petrol buses designed to meet Africa’s transportation needs while contributing to sustainable development.
