According to a resident, Salisu Lawali, the assailants struck around 1 am on Thursday, May 16, systematically terrorizing the area. Lawali revealed that the victims, predominantly women and some men, were taken captive during the assault, which also claimed the lives of three individuals. Describing the harrowing ordeal, Lawali recounted how the bandits, armed with heavy weapons, swarmed the town on motorcycles, conducting house-to-house searches and forcing many to flee into the surrounding bush. Urging swift action, Lawali appealed to both federal and state authorities to deploy security forces to rescue the abducted individuals, emphasizing the community’s inability to pay ransom. As of now, security agencies in the state have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
