Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Obun, who is also a former chairman of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Cross River State, stated that it is the APC’s responsibility to weaken the PDP. He defended the tactic, saying that destabilizing the opposition is a legitimate and effective political strategy, as long as it remains non-violent.

Obun responded to PDP’s accusations, calling it “the worst political confession” to admit such internal disruptions. He emphasized that, just as the PDP works to undermine the APC, it is equally acceptable for the APC to disrupt the opposition party, provided it does not lead to violence. “It’s a valid political weapon,” he concluded.
