In light of Cooper’s departure, first-team coach Ben Dawson, along with Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, will oversee training as the club looks to find a new manager. Cooper’s exit marks the second managerial departure in the Premier League this season, following Manchester United’s dismissal of Erik ten Hag in October.

Cooper, aged 44, had previously managed Nottingham Forest, securing their Premier League status after guiding them to promotion in 2022. He also led England’s U-17 team to a World Cup victory in 2017 and had a successful stint at Swansea, where he reached the Championship play-off final in 2021.
