Keyamo revealed his ministry’s concerns about the behavior of certain security operatives, which, though unrelated to the Aviation Ministry, have negatively impacted passengers’ experiences.

“We’ve raised these issues with the NSA because we’re deeply concerned about the harassment of Nigerians. It’s not aviation staff; it’s operatives from other agencies. Yet, people often tag me in complaints,” Keyamo explained.

To curb misconduct, the NSA has acquired 1,000 body cameras for security personnel at airports, with training nearing completion. These cameras will provide real-time monitoring through a centralized command center.

Despite calls to reduce security agencies’ presence at airports, Keyamo emphasized the need for their operations to align with global standards. He highlighted the importance of agencies like the NDLEA in intercepting drug traffickers while advocating for a discreet, passenger-friendly approach.

“Security checks must be efficient without causing undue inconvenience. Agencies should operate from designated cubicles and only engage passengers when necessary,” he added.
