Murray-Bruce’s challenge comes in response to Gambaryan’s claims that three Nigerian lawmakers demanded a $150 million bribe in cryptocurrency and that Ribadu sought payouts from Binance for political purposes.

Defending Ribadu’s integrity, Murray-Bruce stated via X (formerly Twitter), “I have known Mallam Nuhu Ribadu my entire life, and I can say with absolute certainty that he is incapable of such acts.”

He further accused Gambaryan of attempting to tarnish Nigeria’s reputation with baseless accusations and suggested he prepare a public apology when he fails the lie detector test.

Gambaryan, Binance’s head of financial crime compliance, was detained in Nigeria from February to October 2024 during a federal investigation into alleged money laundering and economic destabilization linked to Binance’s activities in the country.
