Mob Assaults Police Officer In Jos Over Confiscated Hard Drugs

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the incident on his official X handle on Monday.

According to reports, the attack took place early Saturday morning at Polo Roundabout when officers from the ‘C’ Division of the Nigeria Police Force attempted to arrest a suspect found with hard drugs.

Upon spotting the officers, the suspect abandoned a bag containing the illicit substances and fled into the Jenta Adamu area of Jos North LGA.

Shortly after, he allegedly returned with a group of motorcycle riders, who then attacked the officers as they were en route to the station with the recovered drugs.

During the confrontation, Inspector Ikale Muhammed sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Bingham University Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Police reinforcements were later deployed to restore order, while a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle was recovered at the scene. Authorities have since launched an investigation to track down the attackers.
