I Pay Attention To Critics, Even My ‘Enemies’ – Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he maintains a deliberate routine of closely monitoring media coverage about himself, including remarks made by those he considers critics.

According to Ireporter Online, the minister disclosed this while addressing journalists in Abuja, explaining that he prioritizes staying personally informed about public discourse rather than relying on secondhand briefings from aides or associates.

Wike stated that he regularly tunes in to prime-time news broadcasts across leading Nigerian television networks such as Africa Independent Television, TVC News, and Channels Television. He emphasized that this habit allows him to directly follow conversations and criticisms surrounding his activities and leadership.

He further noted that his commitment to staying updated extends beyond regular viewing hours, often continuing late into the night. The minister explained that he sometimes revisits broadcasts around midnight to ensure he is fully abreast of ongoing discussions before retiring for the day.

Wike maintained that this consistent engagement with media reports enables him to remain well-informed about developments and public opinion, particularly comments made by his detractors.
