Nigerian disc jockey and record producer DJ Neptune has raised fresh concerns over the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence in the music industry, warning that the technology could soon displace human producers if its rapid advancement continues unchecked.

According to Ireporter Online, the entertainer made the remark while reacting to concerns earlier expressed by media personality N6, who had taken to social media to highlight what he described as the alarming evolution of AI in music production and mastering. He cautioned that recent developments suggest the technology may be on the verge of overtaking key aspects of the creative process within the industry.

DJ Neptune supported the claim by recounting a personal experience in which he unknowingly listened to an AI-generated track, initially believing it was produced by a human. He explained that the quality of the record impressed him настолько that he advised it was worthy of serious professional consideration, only to later discover that the entire production was created using AI tools, a revelation he described as shocking.

Industry observers note that AI adoption has accelerated across multiple sectors in recent years, with the music space witnessing a surge in the use of digital tools to refine vocals, enhance beats, and streamline production workflows. Both emerging and established artists, alongside producers and sound engineers, are increasingly integrating AI into their creative processes.

The development has, however, sparked broader conversations about the long-term implications for originality, artistic expression, and employment within the industry. In response to these changes, Recording Academy has updated its eligibility guidelines, allowing songs that incorporate AI-generated elements to qualify for its awards, provided there remains a meaningful level of human contribution.
