Gov Adeleke Commends Davido For Showcasing Osun On Global Stage At Coachella 2026

According to Ireporter Online, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has praised Afrobeats star Davido for spotlighting the Adeleke family name and Osun State on the global stage following his performance at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.

Davido, who was the only Nigerian artiste on the official Coachella 2026 lineup, delivered a standout performance on the Gobi Stage, where he incorporated a traditional Yoruba panegyric, oríkì, celebrating his hometown, Ede in Osun State. His set featured a vibrant display of red-and-yellow themed visuals, pyrotechnics, and coordinated stage choreography, which accompanied the cultural narration.

Governor Adeleke, in a post shared on X, expressed pride in the performance after posting a video clip of the stage introduction. He described it as a significant moment for the family, Osun State, and their shared heritage, noting that Davido had successfully projected both the state and their name to a global audience.

“Another proud moment. My nephew @davido is putting the family, our heritage, and state on the global map,” he wrote.

Davido thrilled fans with a selection of his hit songs including Dami Duro, Skelewu, Aye, If, and With You. He also brought fellow Nigerian artiste Adekunle Gold on stage for a joint performance of their collaboration High, adding to one of the highlights of the festival. The performance further reinforced Afrobeats’ growing global influence and Nigeria’s strong cultural presence on international stages.
