New Force PRO Iniedu Takes Charge, Makes Bold Promise
CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, the newly appointed Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, has pledged to usher in a new phase of responsive, transparent, and citizen-focused policing, emphasizing the importance of public collaboration in tackling crime and promoting accountability.
According to Ireporter Online, Iniedu made the commitment in a statement released on Saturday shortly after officially assuming office as the Force spokesperson. He stressed that criminality and impunity would not be tolerated under the watch of the Nigeria Police Force, noting that their elimination requires the collective effort of all Nigerians.
The new Force PRO extended an invitation to members of the public, media organizations, and other stakeholders to maintain constructive engagement with his office, expressing optimism about building a tenure anchored on openness, accountability, and measurable results.
Iniedu also appreciated the goodwill messages he has received since his appointment, reiterating his resolve to strengthen communication between the police and the public while fostering trust through transparent information management.
The Nigeria Police Force had earlier confirmed his appointment following the approval of the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu. The announcement, made by the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, described Iniedu as an experienced police officer with a solid background in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, institutional accountability, and administration, qualities expected to enhance the Force’s engagement with citizens and the media.
