On-Air Personality and Pidgin Sports commentator, Suo Chapele, has narrated how she broke a 100 year tradition in Urhoboland as she bagged a chieftaincy title.

Taking to her social media handles, Suo shared that Urhoboland kings don’t give a father’s chieftaincy titles to their daughters but her family and elders found her worthy of the title.

Sharing a video of herself in their traditional regalia, she said, “In almost a 100 years #Urhobo kings don’t give a father’s chieftaincy title to his daughter especially when there are sons. Today my family/people/elders/Ovie found me worthy.

“Today the Udu kingdom of Urhobo land deemed me worthy. Today my king has transferred my father’s legacy to me: Introducing Olorogun (Chief) Avwerosuoghene Chapele, the Okugbe 2 (unity/peacemaker) of Udu kingdom.

“Urhobo Ovuovo. Udu Wado. Aladja Wado. Welcome to the new dispensation. #oghenemigwo #kpoko.”
