JUST IN: Court Reinstates Lawal As Senatorial Candidate (DETAILS)
Lawal Adamu Usman has been reinstated as the People’s Democratic Party candidate for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District by an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja.
A Federal High Court in Kaduna declared the primary election for Kaduna Central Senatorial District null and void and ordered a re-run.
Lawal Adamu, also known as Mr LA, was declared the primary election winner, and his name was later published by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as the PDP Kaduna Central Senatorial Candidate.

Usman Ibrahim, who finished second in the primary election, challenged Adamu’s victory in court.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Mohammed Garba Umar, stated in his ruling that the plaintiff’s claims are substantial, as is the decision by INEC and the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party’s earlier decision for a fresh primary, which did not hold, and thus the defendants’ claims were declared null and void.
However, when the case was heard by an Appellate Court in Abuja, Justice Peter Affen ruled on Monday that the Kaduna High Court overstepped its bounds by investigating the party’s internal affairs.
As a result, the case was dismissed, and Lawal Adamu Usman was declared the candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District.
