₦6.2 Billion Fraud: Tension Mounts As Court Fixes Ruling Date For Otudeko’s Case

The ruling date was set after hearing arguments from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and defense counsel.

While Otudeko was absent from the proceedings, other defendants, including former FBN Group Managing Director Stephen Olabisi Onasanya and former Honeywell Flour Mills board member Soji Akintayo, were present in court.

Otudeko’s lawyer, Wole Olanipekun (SAN), submitted an application explaining his client’s absence, citing a medical trip to the United Kingdom. However, EFCC’s counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), argued that the defendants had been duly served and the case should proceed.

The defense team also filed applications challenging the court’s jurisdiction, with some defendants seeking to have their names struck from the charge.

Justice Aneke adjourned the case to March 17 for a ruling.
