2023: Peter Obi’s Acceptance Is A Testimony Of Stewardship By Smart Omo-Idemudia
Stewardship is defined as the act of looking after the property or interests of another.
Stewardship is based on the concepts of accountability, long-term thinking, and the duty for asset protection over time. It is a frequently overlooked component of the President’s job description.
However, one of the most crucial notions for the operation of a competent government is that the President is responsible for the prudent use of the nation’s resources.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, has made significant headway recently. Obi can no longer be viewed as the underdog in the 2023 presidential elections after suddenly emerging as a prominent factor.
A thorough examination of Nigerians’ overall desire for effective administration leads to the conclusion that the former governor of Anambra State’s remarkable leadership skills are a key element in the country’s quick and widespread acceptance of him.
Obi has evolved into a movement that crosses all ethnic and religious boundaries and appears unstoppable; Peter Obi has unquestionably altered Nigerian politics for good.
Of all the presidential contenders, Peter Obi appears to be the most qualified to manage the country’s resources in the best interests of its citizens. Nigerians have had enough of the same system that eats fat into the nation’s commonwealth while producing nothing.
Only a visionary leader with the best interests of our children and grandchildren can manage our country and its vast resources. Prior to Obi’s entry into the race, the ruling class manipulated the system by keeping the people in the dark.
They made sure the people were starved and too hungry to fight for what was rightfully theirs. Nigeria’s resources have been depleted to the point where the country can only survive on loans, making the future of our children and grandchildren bleak.
Even though different people have different opinions, Mr. Peter Obi’s influence on Anambra State and Nigeria in general is clear for all to see. Peter Obi will challenge those who think that Nigeria’s resources are the property of a select group of powerful politicians and other individuals.
Peter Obi’s term as governor of Anambra State was the epitome of excellent stewardship and was marked by selflessness, humility, and prudency. Nigerians are eager to usher in a new era in which the country’s president will provide excellent stewardship to its citizens.
To put it simply, I believe Peter Obi will be a better steward of Nigeria’s resources. You may disagree on how much to give him, but he is the one who will best manage what he is given.
“The change we require is more than just new programs and policies… It’s about a new attitude, a new politics a politics that encourages our better angels rather than our worst instincts.”
