2027 Sh*ck: ‘Ndigbo Have Aligned With Atiku’ – Onochie

Former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has claimed that people in the Southeast have aligned themselves with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Onochie, the former Vice President should be regarded as Nigeria’s incoming president, expressing confidence that the Southeast would witness significant industrial and economic transformation if Atiku emerges victorious in the 2027 presidential election.

Onochie made the claim in a post shared on her account, where she also commended people from the Southeast for what she described as their regular efforts to strengthen relationships and political alliances with people from the northern part of the country.

She wrote: “In case you have been wondering why or did not even know that Ndigbo have aligned with Atiku Abubakar, this is one of the reasons.

“Thank you to our people from the South East who, on a daily basis, come to Abuja to strengthen their friendship and Alliance with the North.

“If you don’t get it, think about it. Still, Igboland will be transformed and industrialised under our very own Incoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mazi Atiku Abubakar.”

Onochie ended the post with the hashtags #AtikuIsComing and #excitingnews, while calling for prayers for Nigeria.

Her comments come as political activities and alignments intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with opposition figures and political groups positioning themselves for the contest.

Meanwhile, Arise Television anchor Reuben Abati has dismissed concerns recently raised by Atiku Abubakar over President Bola Tinubu’s three-week vacation in Europe.

Atiku had criticised the President’s decision to travel, arguing that the trip was unnecessary given the economic difficulties facing Nigerians.

Reacting during an edition of the Morning Show on Monday, Abati described the concerns raised by Atiku’s camp as embarrassing and suggested that the criticism had not been sufficiently researched.

The veteran journalist argued that Tinubu was constitutionally entitled to travel and could visit any location of his choice, provided his absence remained within the constitutional period that does not require the formal transfer of presidential powers.
