26-Year-Old NYSC Member, Passengers, Driver Die In Road Accident

A tragic accident in Imo State claimed the life of a 26-year-old female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Sanni Mariam, from the 2023 Batch C Stream 2.

The accident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the death of Mariam, along with other passengers and the driver, as they were en route to Lagos.

Mariam had just completed her state of deployment in Benue State and was on her way back to Lagos when the accident happened. She had taken an exit from the Benue State NYSC camp, where the three-week compulsory orientation was in progress and scheduled to conclude the following Thursday.

Mariam, a Computer Science graduate from Universite Protestante de Lafrique de l’Ouest, Benin Republic, had received several awards for her platoon, including recognition for her prowess in the Scrabble platoon game. Despite efforts to reach the Benue State NYSC State Coordinator, no response was received at the time of reporting.
