During an interactive session with the media after the State Security Meeting, Onwuemelie highlighted the incorporation of technologies like CCTV installations in strategic locations, improved communication infrastructure, and enhanced distress call reporting.

The police boss emphasized that leveraging these technological advancements would not only deter and detect crimes but also foster better communication among security agencies for prompt and effective crime prevention measures.

The Operation Crush Initiative, a multi-agency security approach by the Abia Government, was commended for its success in contributing to the improved security situation in the state.

The State Security Meeting focused on reviewing the security landscape with a keen eye on recent developments, particularly incidents of kidnapping.

Onwuemelie expressed confidence that the technological measures initiated would further fortify the security apparatus in Abia, addressing concerns such as the recent kidnapping of Prof. Godwin Emezue, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of the Abia State University, Uturu. Efforts are underway to ensure his safe rescue and release.
