Abuja In High Spirits As Wike’s Bold Moves Set To Transform The Capital

As I reminisce about my childhood in Nigeria, one thing that never fails to bring a smile to my face is the ecstatic shout of “Up NEPA!” The sheer joy it brought to kids, and the memory of those shouts echoing through the streets, with the declaration, “Dem Don Bring Light” – it was pure nostalgia!

Today, that same spirit of excitement has engulfed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, as Nyesom Wike, the former Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister, has embarked on an ambitious journey of urban revitalization.

The FCT is witnessing a wave of transformation, with ongoing renovations of federal buildings painting a picture of promise and progress. Everywhere you look, there’s development in the air, and even the once-abandoned flyovers are getting a new lease on life.

We’ve long recognized Wike as a proactive figure with a genuine concern for the well-being of the people. While he may be outspoken, his boldness and courage are undeniable. We’re well aware of the challenges and opposition he faces from some quarters within the ministry, who believe he is determined to usher in a fresh approach that challenges the prevailing culture of impunity.

It appears that President Tinubu’s appointment of Nyesom Wike as the FCT minister could turn out to be a brilliant strategic move. This is indeed an exciting development.

Abuja is reigniting its past splendor, and the optimism for a brighter future has never been more robust. We’d love to hear from all of you: What are your current experiences in the FCT? Have you noticed any recent developments or changes?
