Akpabio assured the gathering of an upcoming meeting involving key stakeholders such as state chairpersons, National Assembly members, ministers, and other officials from the region. The aim is to strategize ways to strengthen the party’s presence in various states, fostering unity and cooperation among members.

During the session, Akpabio highlighted the economic agenda for Nigeria, particularly in the South-South, under the leadership of Tinubu. He praised visionary projects like the Lagos/Calabar coastal road initiative and emphasized his personal involvement in overseeing the ongoing construction efforts.

In response, Barrister Alphonsus Ogar, representing Cross River State, commended the harmonious relationship between Akpabio and the region’s sole governor, Senator Bassey Otu, along with their spouses. Ogar underscored the significance of Akpabio’s leadership, noting the region’s prolonged absence from holding the position of Senate President.
