According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her personal experiences with love and motherhood, revealing the challenges she has faced in relationships. The singer, in a recent interview with YouTuber Korty EO, disclosed that she has only had one truly good relationship, which ended tragically with the death of her partner. She described her other romantic experiences as largely disappointing, saying, “There is hardly any relationship I would look back at and see anything positive… Actually, there is one, but he passed away. May his soul rest in peace. He was incredible.”

Tiwa Savage also shared that her experiences in difficult relationships have shaped how she advises her son, Jamil Balogun, to treat women with respect and kindness. She emphasized the importance of raising him to be a good man despite the inevitability of mistakes.

The singer reflected on her journey as a mother, revealing that she initially struggled to bond with her son, having hoped for a daughter. She recalled crying when she learned she was having a boy and feeling insecure about her post-pregnancy appearance. Tiwa explained that she had even lost a major brand campaign at the time, feeling that her son had “destroyed” her career. Today, however, she describes her son as her best friend.

Tiwa Savage, who was married to music executive Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Tee Billz, from 2013 to 2018, welcomed Jamil in July 2015. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for the bond they now share and the lessons she imparts to him about love, respect, and kindness.
