According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to receive the certificate of return and the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, officially confirming him as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The presentation ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, following the completion of nationwide collation of results from the party’s presidential primary election.

A statement released on Saturday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the event will be attended by APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, federal lawmakers, and other key party stakeholders.

The APC had earlier concluded its presidential primary exercise as part of preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Tinubu emerging as the party’s flagbearer after securing victory over his sole challenger, Osifo Osayamen Stanley.

Tinubu, while speaking after casting his vote during the APC presidential primary held at Ikoyi-Obalende Ward L2 in Lagos State, described the exercise as a reflection of internal democracy within the ruling party. He commended party members for their peaceful conduct and active participation throughout the process.

The President further noted that the primaries were well-organised from the ward level to the local government stage, praising governors and party officials for ensuring orderly accreditation, membership registration, and other electoral procedures. He added that the process demonstrated inclusiveness and grassroots participation within the APC structure.
