APC Chieftain Declares Obasa’s Resumption As A Game-Changer In Lagos Politics

A senior All Progressives Congress (APC) leader has described Mudashiru Obasa’s return to the Lagos State House of Assembly as a “massive political statement” amidst the ongoing power struggle. “Obasa’s resumption as the Assembly Speaker is a huge political move in the current squabble. The fact that he successfully held a plenary session suggests that things are moving in his direction. Additionally, the full security detail accompanying him speaks volumes,” he said.

The party leader, a known ally of President Bola Tinubu, suggested that the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) might be disbanded, hinting that significant changes are forthcoming as the crisis unfolds.

“The current crisis will mark the end of the GAC’s influence. Their failure to resolve the issue and the President’s decision to send in a panel of three outsiders undermines the GAC’s authority and significance. The GAC is now seen as taking sides, and Lagos APC will never be the same again,” he added.

The APC chieftain also hinted that President Tinubu is reassessing the political landscape in Lagos and may scrutinize the party’s leadership structure.

“With all these developments, I can assure you that the President will pay closer attention to Lagos politics. He will start to question the loyalty and commitment of these so-called leaders, and this will influence future political decisions in the state,” he concluded.
