APC Speaks On ‘Deal’ Between Tinubu, NNPP To Retain Kano
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has categorically rejected unfounded speculations suggesting that President Bola Tinubu has entered into an agreement with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to manipulate the Supreme Court’s decision in favor of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf.
The alleged arrangement reportedly includes a condition that the governor would subsequently defect to the APC.

Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the state chairman of the APC, addressed these claims on Sunday in Abuja, dismissing them as baseless. He asserted that the NNPP’s leadership, in a state of desperation, has been circulating false information about a supposed deal, aiming to cast doubt on the integrity of the impending Supreme Court ruling.
“Since the NNPP started circulating the rumours, its gullible members are excited and continue to dish out all sorts of lies so as to make the party’s supporters continue to remain hopeful in the face of the prevailing defeat”, he said.

He said; “There is no where such meeting was held with either Mr President or any leader of the party.
President Bola Tinubu upholds democratic values and a commitment to the rule of law, firmly rejecting any involvement in arrangements or reconciliations aimed at undermining justice. He asserts that he will not support individuals who have engaged in vote theft or violated electoral laws to attain leadership positions.
Abbas clarified that the APC, as a party, is unaware of any such arrangements and is dedicated to vigorously pursuing its case in the Supreme Court until a fair resolution is reached. The chairman expressed confidence in the party’s success, citing compelling evidence presented at both the Tribunal and the Appeal Court that contributed to the party’s favorable outcomes.
Addressing the purported crisis anticipated by the NNPP, the APC chairman emphasized the peaceful state of Kano. He highlighted the populace’s contentment with recent legal judgments and their eager anticipation for the Supreme Court’s endorsement of the rulings.
Abbas reassured that Kano remains tranquil, with citizens continuing their routine activities despite NNPP’s attempts to incite unrest among the youth for political reasons. He pledged the party’s commitment to fostering harmonious relationships with diverse ethnic groups and nationalities, irrespective of provocations by the NNPP.
The chairman urged party members and Nigerians to dismiss propaganda, remain calm, and trust that Kano will persist in maintaining peace.
