Bandits Abduct Several Passengers In Katsina State

According to reports, the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon after the hoodlums intercepted an eighteen-seater bus registered as (14B-300-KT), belonging to the Katsina State Transport Authority, which was loaded with passengers.

An eyewitness, speaking to Channels Television via telephone, revealed that the abduction took place between the Burdugau and Yargoje communities, en route to Kankara town. Most of the passengers were reportedly traveling from Funtua Local Government to Katsina LG.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the state government nor the police authorities have issued a statement regarding the incident.

In a related development, fourteen individuals have been kidnapped in the Dogon Noma-Ungwan Gamo community, situated in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This abduction adds to the growing concerns in the region, occurring just a week after the abduction of 61 people in the Buda community within the same LGA.

Reports indicate that the latest incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday when a large group of bandits invaded the Dogon Noma community, firing shots sporadically before abducting fourteen residents. One person sustained injuries during the assault and is currently receiving medical treatment.

However, there is some relief as seven of the kidnapped victims have been released by the bandits.
