Bandits Kidnap Customs Officer, Son, Eight Others
Bandits have kidnapped 10 persons, including a Customs officer, Muawiyya Gambo Turaki, his son Khalifa and eight others during a fresh attack on Kofar Gayan low-cost in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Though Kaduna Police spokesman, ASP Muhammad Jalige, said he was yet to get details of the incident as of the time of filing this report, residents confirmed the incident to The Nation.
They said the bandits invaded the area around 9.00 pm on Wednesday.
ASP Jalige said he needed to get in touch with the Zaria Area command for details of the incident.
Kofar Gayan is coming under the attack of bandits for the second time in the last six months.

In the first attack, the wife of a Customs Officer and another woman were kidnapped and N15million ransom was allegedly paid before their release.
A resident of the community, Yishau Aisha, who escaped the kidnap attack by the whiskers, said he escaped from the bandits after trekking several kilometres into the bush.
According to him: “The abductors were eight in number and came on foot with sophisticated weapons. They struggled to speak Hausa language to us but their language of communication is Fulani.
“I think informants are the ones causing these incessant kidnaps because it seems their main target was the customs officer who arrived home from his duty post, just a day earlier.”
The village head of the area, Muhammadu Nazifi, said: “Those kidnapped include his son, Jamalu, Muawiyya Gambo Turaki, a customs officer, who arrived home from his duty post just yesterday and his son Khalifa.
“They also kidnapped a woman, Jamila Usman and another boy also called Khalifah. However, about four of them later escaped and returned home.”
