Barcelona 5-0 Valencia: Flick Demands More Despite Huge Win

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has praised his side’s dominant display in their 5-0 victory over Valencia but challenged his players to improve their game management despite maintaining their perfect start to the La Liga season.

According to Ireporter Online, Barcelona controlled proceedings from the early stages at Mestalla, producing another impressive attacking performance that moved them three points clear at the top of the table.

Lamine Yamal scored twice, while Pedri was also on the scoresheet as the Catalan giants continued their strong start to the campaign.

Despite the emphatic result, Flick insisted that his players must become better at controlling matches and managing their energy, particularly with a demanding schedule ahead.

“It was a great match, we controlled it from the start. We dominated the run of play, and that’s what I aspire to,” the German coach said after the game.

Flick admitted that Barcelona could have managed the contest more efficiently rather than relying heavily on their direct attacking style.

“I don’t know if it’s necessary to say this after we won 5-0, but we need to try to control the match better. There are many matches, and you always have to manage your energy,” he added.

Barcelona have now scored 17 goals in their opening four league matches while conceding just twice, underlining their impressive form under Flick.

However, the manager played down the importance of individual statistics, insisting that securing points remains his primary objective.

“For me, it’s only about the three points,” Flick said.

Yamal once again played a key role in Barcelona’s attacking display, scoring twice as the visitors dismantled Valencia at their home ground.

Flick was also pleased with how his players coped with difficult conditions, with temperatures reportedly reaching 34 degrees Celsius during the match.

The Barcelona boss further defended the referee’s handling of the game after Pau Cubarsí, Rodri and Fermín López were booked.

He said Cubarsí’s yellow card was deserved and praised the referee for his overall performance.
