Battle For Edo: Esan Youth Leaders Coalition Advocates Meritocracy Over Zoning, Throws Support Behind Olumide Akpata
In a groundbreaking step highlighting unity, the Esan Amalgamated Youth Coalition (EAYC), a coalition representing various Esan youth groups and led by Aidenojie Enaholo, has decisively announced their support for Olumide Akpata as their prime gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming Edo State elections.
This landmark announcement followed an extraordinary convening of the coalition in Benin City, the political hub of Edo State. During this historic assembly, the coalition unequivocally affirmed their collective decision to rally behind Olumide Akpata, citing the urgent need for a reset in Edo’s state governance.
Aidenojie Enaholo, representing the coalition, emphasized that their coming together from five separate Esan youth groups signifies a strong dedication to reshaping the direction of Edo State.
Enaholo asserted that their choice of Olumide Akpata stems from the belief that he embodies the requisites crucial for Edo’s resurgence. They underscored the imperative for leadership endowed with a multifaceted approach: possessing strong leadership acumen, transparency in decision-making processes, effective communication proficiency, unwavering integrity, a compelling vision for holistic development, adept resource management skills, a collaborative spirit, genuine empathy towards constituents, a firm commitment to accountability, and an unswerving dedication to serving the public interest.
The coalition expressed collective confidence in Akpata’s capacity to encapsulate these vital characteristics and steer Edo State toward an epoch of progress, prosperity, and accountable governance.
Enaholo elaborated on their choice to transcend the concept of zoning, emphasizing that, in their conviction, the future of Edo State hinges on meritocracy rather than geographical or zoning considerations. The coalition firmly believes that for Edo to attain greatness, it is imperative to enlist the most qualified and competent hands, regardless of regional considerations.
