Ben Murray-Bruce Dumps PDP, Declares Support For Tinubu’s “Reform-Driven” APC

According to Ireporter Online, former Senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Murray-Bruce, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared his allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the businessman and media entrepreneur explained that his defection was not motivated by politics but by a genuine desire to support national progress.

Murray-Bruce, who has been a prominent member of the PDP for years, attributed his decision to join the APC to his long-standing relationship with President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as a visionary and courageous leader driving Nigeria’s transformation.

He praised President Tinubu’s administration for its economic reforms and infrastructural initiatives, insisting that the current challenges faced by Nigerians are temporary sacrifices that will eventually lead to prosperity.

“I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know his mind, his courage, and his conviction. He is not driven by applause, he is driven by results,” Murray-Bruce said.

He further stated that for the first time in Nigeria’s history, the country has a President who truly understands finance and views the economy as a dynamic entity that must be disciplined and deregulated. He described the reforms being implemented as essential foundations for future growth and innovation.

Murray-Bruce also lauded the administration’s efforts in security, monetary policy, and foreign relations, asserting that Nigeria is regaining stability, confidence, and global respect. He commended the government’s infrastructural expansion, citing developments in roads, ports, airports, and housing as clear indicators of progress.

Acknowledging the current hardship many citizens are facing, he emphasized that reform comes with sacrifice but ultimately paves the way for national rebirth.

Concluding his statement, Murray-Bruce affirmed that his decision to join the APC was based on conviction and optimism for Nigeria’s future. “I am joining the All Progressives Congress not for politics, but for progress,” he declared, expressing confidence that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria will experience remarkable growth over the next eight years.
