Brazil’s Copa America Roster Unveiled: Neymar, Jesus, Casemiro Excluded

Neymar’s absence from the squad was expected due to his ongoing struggle with a knee injury, limiting his appearances for Al Hilal since moving from Paris Saint Germain last year. The exclusion of Casemiro, however, came as a shock to many, as the Manchester United midfielder appeared to be a likely candidate for the squad. Speculations suggest that criticism from the British press might have influenced the decision to leave him out.

Other notable omissions include Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur and Thiago Silva from Chelsea, who has announced his return to Fluminense. Their exclusion was attributed to a decline in form and reduced game time, respectively.

The squad includes goalkeepers Alisson Becker, Éderson, and Bento, along with defenders such as Danilo, Marquinhos, and Gabriel Magalhães. In midfield, players like Andreas Pereira, Bruno Guimarães, and Douglas Luiz have been selected, while forwards include Martinelli, Rodrygo, and Raphinha.

The 2024 Copa America is scheduled to take place in the United States from June 20 to July 14.
