BREAKING: Abdullahi Adamu Expelled From Party With Strong Reason

The Labour Party in Plateau State has ousted one of its prominent members, Abdullahi Adamu, citing his involvement in anti-party activities as the reason for his expulsion.

Adamu had aspired to represent the Plateau North Senatorial District during the 2023 general elections.

The expulsion was conveyed in a letter jointly signed by the state chairman of the party, Grace Zamfara, and secretary, Bulus Kaze, which was released to the press on Sunday in Jos.

It was revealed that Adamu had initially reached an agreement with Gyang Zi, who ultimately emerged as the party’s candidate for the Plateau North Senatorial District in the recent general elections.

Despite initially having the party’s ticket to run for the Senate seat, Adamu later consented to being replaced by Zi. However, following a recent court ruling mandating a rerun in Plateau North, Adamu is now asserting himself as the authentic candidate, claiming his name remains on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s portal.

The expulsion letter from the Labour Party accused Adamu of collaborating with the opposition to foment unnecessary discord within the party. The decision to expel him, as stated in the letter, followed a comprehensive investigation, revealing Adamu’s culpability in the alleged activities against the party’s interests.

“The leadership of the party has been following your anti-party activities which include colluding with the opponents against the interest of the party.

“You have been circulating false information about Gyang Zi, our candidate for Plateau North in the last general elections and the forthcoming rerun elections.

“Your action is a gross misconduct and you are hereby expelled forthwith from the party,” the letter stated.
