BREAKING: Army Takes Responsibility For Air Strike In Kaduna

 

The Nigerian Army has admitted responsibility for the Air Strike on Sunday that resulted in the death of many villagers and injuries to several others in Tudun Biri village, Kaduna State.

Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed this development at the conclusion of an emergency security meeting on Monday.

On Sunday night, an unmanned aerial vehicle bombed parts of Tudun Biri village while villagers were observing the Maulud celebration in commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The incident caused casualties, though the exact number is yet to be determined.

In response to the incident, the Kaduna state government convened an emergency security meeting chaired by the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe. The meeting, attended by heads of security agencies, religious and traditional leaders, and representatives of Tudun Biri community, revealed core details about the unintended and unfortunate bombing.

After the closed-door security meeting, Samuel Aruwan addressed journalists, explaining that the bombing was unintentional and occurred during the Nigerian Army’s routine mission against terrorists in the area. He also mentioned that search and rescue operations are ongoing, with the injured individuals being treated at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.
