Chief Victor Bala Kona, the immediate past leader of the Taraba State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has passed away.

His demise, according to information from DAILY POST, took place in the early hours of today, Sunday, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, the Acting chairman of the party, confirmed his passing, revealing that Chief Kona succumbed to a prolonged illness.

Having previously been flown overseas for medical treatment, the former chairman was recently brought back to Nigeria, where he ultimately breathed his last.

Bakari expressed deep sorrow on behalf of the party, characterizing Kona’s departure as an unexpected blow. He lamented that the party would feel the absence of his leadership, political acumen, and exceptional organizational abilities.

Bakari, who was in Abuja at the time of this report, where Bala Kona passed away, mentioned that the specifics of the burial arrangements would be disclosed following discussions with the family.
