BREAKING: Court Delivers Ruling In EFCC’s Case Against Okorocha
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had its case against Senator Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, dismissed by a Federal Capital Territory High Court.
The court determined that the charges of fraud and abuse of office brought by the EFCC were an abuse of the judicial process.
Justice Yusuf Halilu, the presiding judge, based his judgment on the fact that the EFCC had already filed a similar charge against Senator Okorocha at the Federal High Court.
In December of the previous year, that case was decided in favor of the former governor. Therefore, the judge concluded that pursuing the same charges again would be unjust and duplicative.
