BREAKING: Details Of Emefiele’s Arraignment Emerge

Suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, was brought before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday morning by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) to face charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Emefiele appeared before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, the vacation judge, and was defended by former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Joseph Daudu, along with other lawyers.

The suspended apex bank chief pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his defense counsel, Daudu, informed the court that Emefiele has been in detention for several weeks. He also stated that the application for bail has been filed and served on the prosecution.
