BREAKING: FG Declares Holidays For Christmas, New Year Celebrations (SEE DATES)

The Federal Government has officially declared Monday and Tuesday, December 25 and 26, 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate the Christmas and New Year’s Day celebrations, respectively.

The declaration was made by the Hon. Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended felicitations to Christians and all Nigerians, both at home and in the Diaspora, on these occasions.

Encouraging Christians to emulate the life of Jesus Christ through practicing and adhering to principles of humility, service, compassion, and patience, the minister emphasized the importance of peace and security as crucial prerequisites for economic development and prosperity.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo assured that the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will continue to implement effective measures to ensure the security of lives and property. He urged Nigerians to maintain a high level of security consciousness and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest security agencies.

Emphasizing the need for discipline during the Yuletide season to safeguard lives and property, the minister called on all citizens to remain focused, anticipating that the year 2024 will be a better year in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of the President.
