According to reports from Naija News, the blaze reportedly started around 2 a.m. on Saturday and continues to rage, with firefighters on the scene working diligently to contain it.

Confirming the situation to PUNCH, Akinyemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, stated: “We are dealing with a serious inferno at Agodi-Gate. We need assistance from water tanker owners. We are still working to manage the situation.”

The cause of the fire remains unclear, and investigations are currently in progress.

In related events, a devastating fire on Friday resulted in the tragic deaths of a husband, wife, and their grandson in the Ori-Eru area of Ibadan, impacting a two-story building at 3:46 a.m.

Earlier this week, another fire severely damaged three shops in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Sunday morning. Fortunately, the prompt response of the state fire services averted more significant losses by saving 13 additional shops.

Additionally, last Friday, a fire broke out at a Christ Apostolic Church parish in Ibadan during a vigil, reportedly trapping several worshippers inside. This incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at Wisdom Estate on Road 1G, Olohunda Road, in the Lagelu Local Government Area.
