[BREAKING] Governorship Election: PDP Loses Another State At Appeal Court
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has overturned the removal of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) initially declared Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the March election, securing 347,209 votes against his closest opponent, David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 283,016 votes.

However, in a split decision on October 2, the tribunal nullified Sule’s election and declared Ombugadu as the winner.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, through his counsel Wole Olanipekun (SAN), appealed to the Court of Appeal to overturn the judgment of the tribunal and allow his appeal.

Olanipekun argued that the tribunal failed to consider the submissions of their witnesses during the hearing, emphasizing that the BVAS data was presented without being duly considered as evidence.
The three-member panel of justices unanimously held that the Nasarawa State Election Petition Tribunal erred in law in concluding that Sule did not win the majority of the votes.
The appellate court set aside the tribunal’s judgment and affirmed Sule’s re-election as Governor of Nasarawa State.
