BREAKING: Minister Of Defence Sacked (DETAILS)

On Saturday, Croatia’s Prime Minister removed Defence Minister Mario Banozic from his position following his involvement in a car accident that resulted in the death of another driver.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced in a press conference that Banozic, who had been the defence minister since 2020, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

The incident occurred as Banozic was leaving the eastern town of Vinkovci in his private car, colliding with a van, resulting in the death of the van driver.

Expressing regret and concern about the minister’s condition, Plenkovic stated, “You have heard the circumstances of the accident, and we express regret and concern about the condition of the minister who is hospitalized with serious injuries. I have relieved Minister Banozic of his duties as Minister of Defence.”

Earlier reports indicated that Banozic had sustained serious head injuries but that his life was not in immediate danger, as conveyed by government spokesman Marko Milic.\
