In a statement released by the White House, the US asserted its steadfast commitment to Israel’s security, emphasizing that America stands firmly with the Israeli people in their defense against threats posed by Iran.

The recent spate of hostilities commenced when Iran officially launched an attack against Israel, deploying drones and missiles, purportedly in retaliation for an earlier assault on the Iranian embassy in Syria, allegedly carried out by Israel, resulting in the loss of seven Iranian military officers.

Responding to Iran’s aggression, Israel’s war cabinet authorized military action in retaliation, following an emergency meeting convened after the Iranian attack.

Amid the escalating conflict between the two nations, the White House reiterated President Joe Biden’s unwavering support for Israel, affirming that he is closely monitoring the situation and is in regular contact with his national security team.

“Iran has initiated an airborne attack against Israel. President Biden is being regularly updated on the situation by his national security team and will meet with them this afternoon at the White House. His team is in constant communication with Israeli officials as well as other partners and allies. This attack is likely to unfold over a number of hours. President Biden has been clear: our support for Israel’s security is ironclad. The United States will stand with the people of Israel and support their defense against these threats from Iran,” the White House statement reads.

This staunch stance by the US comes despite Iran’s warning against any country, including the US, that supports Israel in the ongoing conflict.
