BREAKING: Sacked Kano Governor Requests Another N24 Billion Supplementary Budget

On Tuesday, the Kano State House of Assembly received a supplementary budget request of N24 billion from Governor Abba Yusuf.

This comes just two months after the assembly approved a supplementary budget request of N58 billion.

The new request, read by the assembly spokesperson Uba Abdullahi, allocates N4 billion for personnel costs and gratuity settlements, while N20 billion is set aside for capital expenditure.

“The second supplementary budget is to be sourced from additional revenue, both from federation account allocation Committee, internally generated revenue and receipts from Ministry for Local Government and independent power project loan from CBN,” the spokesperson said.

Under Governor Abba Yusuf, the Kano State House of Assembly has received a second supplementary budget request of N24 billion, bringing the total supplementary budget to over N82 billion within six months of his assumption of office.

The current 2023 budget of the state now stands at N350 billion, up from the initial estimates of N245 billion presented by the previous governor Abdullahi Ganduje, which was later revised upward to N268 billion.
