BREAKING: Speaker, Deputy Lose Seats In APC Controlled State

Zamfara

The Peoples Democratic Party candidates defeated the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Muazu Magarya, and his deputy, Musa Bawa Musa Yankuzo, in the election held last Saturday.

Ismail Mudassir Moriki, the returning officer for the Zurmi West Constituency election, declared Bilyaminu Ismail of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the election in the Speaker’s constituency.

Ismail received 11,213 votes, defeating the Speaker, who received 9,530 votes.

Similarly, Yankuzo, the deputy speaker of the state assembly, lost his reelection bid to the PDP’s Bello Muhammad Mazawaje, who received 21,197 votes to Yankuzo’s 13, 820 votes.

Zamfara is one of the states controlled by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
