BREAKING: Tinubu Effect As UAE Lifts Visa Ban On Nigerians After Almost One Year
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted the visa ban on Nigerian travelers after nearly a year. This significant development comes following a landmark agreement reached between President Bola Tinubu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday.
The news was confirmed by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
Ngelale further emphasized that both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines will promptly resume their flight schedules to and from Nigeria, without any further delays. Notably, as part of the negotiated terms between the two leaders, the immediate reinstatement of flight operations involving these airlines and the two nations does not entail an immediate financial commitment from the Nigerian government.

In recognition of President Tinubu’s pursuit of economic development diplomacy and the proposals presented during the meeting, an agreed framework has been established. This framework will result in several billion dollars’ worth of new investments in the Nigerian economy across various sectors, including defense and agriculture, facilitated by the investment arms of the UAE Government.
Additionally, President Tinubu successfully negotiated a collaborative foreign exchange liquidity program between the two governments, with detailed announcements to follow in the coming weeks.
In closing, the President expressed his commendation for UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, recognizing his unwavering friendship and determined efforts to work hand-in-hand in order to fully normalize and elevate the standard of relations between these two pivotal nations.
